odslocal

A digital platform to understand how municipalities involve in the monitoring of SDGs at the local level and in the decentralised promotion of related actions

2025–2030

ODSLocal is a digital platform that supports municipalities in understanding, monitoring and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals at local level. The initiative responds to a common difficulty faced by local authorities. Although municipalities influence many areas covered by the 2030 Agenda, the available indicators are often dispersed across different databases, designed for national or regional analysis or difficult to interpret at municipal scale. ODSLocal brings together relevant public data and organises it through a clear local monitoring framework, allowing users to explore the situation and progress of municipalities across different social, economic and environmental dimensions. The platform is designed not only as a public information tool, but also as a resource for research, planning and local decision-making. Its development includes the selection and assessment of indicators, the identification of data gaps and the preparation of guidance to help local institutions interpret the evidence and connect it with possible actions. The initiative begins with work in Pontevedra and is intended to provide an approach that can later be applied to municipalities across Spain.
